Discover Veere during an atmospheric walk of 4.5 km, passing centuries‑old alleyways, fortifications and the harbour.
You will explore a small town that grew through trade, seafaring and a special connection with Scotland. Enjoy impressive monuments, beautiful views over the water and charming streets full of stories. Let yourself be taken through the centuries in which nobles, merchants and sailors left their mark.
This route of about four kilometres takes you past the most important sights. Along the way we pause at the stories behind the buildings and the events that shaped Veere, especially the important trading relationship with Scotland.
Arriving by car? Follow the parking route to one of the official parking areas. Parking outside these areas is reserved for permit holders or visitors with a day ticket.
The best place to park is along the Veerseweg. This parking area is free and also suitable for camper vans. From here it is about a ten‑minute walk to the first point of interest: the Grote Kerk of Veere.
Arriving by bicycle? Park it in the bicycle parking area on the Oudestraat and walk to the main entrance of the Grote Kerk.
